自動ログアウトなど制限時間のある処理には、解除・少なくとも10倍への調整・警告と20秒以上の猶予を伴う延長、のいずれかをユーザーに提供する。認知障害や運動障害のある利用者は読解や入力に時間がかかりやすいため。リアルタイムのイベントや制限時間そのものが本質的に必要な場合（オークション等）、20時間を超える制限時間は例外。
